Getting Started
Install Formula Trigga, add it to a column, and write your first formula that triggers automations.
Prerequisites
A monday.com account with edit permissions on at least one board.
Formula Trigga works on monday.com desktop and web. Mobile is not supported.
Installing the App
- Go to the monday.com Marketplace
- Click Install
- Select the workspace(s) where you want to use Formula Trigga
- Click Install to confirm
Adding Formula Trigga to a Column
After installation, add Formula Trigga to any supported classic column:
- Open the board where you want to use formulas
- Click the header of a supported column (Text, Numbers, Date, Status, People, Long Text, Email, or Dropdown)
- Select Formula Trigga from the apps menu
The formula editor opens with autocomplete suggestions, function tooltips, and a list of available columns.
Writing Your First Formula
- In the formula editor, type your formula — for example,
CONCATENATE({First Name}, " ", {Last Name})to combine two text columns - Click Set formula to save
- Update any source column value on a board item — Formula Trigga recalculates and writes the result to the target column
When any source column value changes, Formula Trigga recalculates and writes the result to the target column — triggering any automations watching it.

| Batch calculation | "Set and calculate all items" — applies your formula to every existing item on the board at once |
| Formula health | A diagnostic view that monitors all formulas on your board for issues: missing columns, broken configurations, quota warnings |
| Parent column reference | Ability to use parent item column values in subitem formulas, e.g. {Parent's Status} |
