HOW IT WORKS
Up and Running in Minutes
Open the board you want to add Advanced Templates to and click Add → Apps → Advanced Templates.
In the Manage Advanced Templates view, click Save as Template from an existing item, group, or selection.
Define template name, configure column values (including dynamic dates), and include subitems if needed.
To deploy manually: hover over any saved template and click Create now, then select the target group.
To deploy via automation: go to Automation Center → Integrations → Advanced Templates, configure your trigger and select the template to apply.

- Can I use templates in monday.com automations?
- Yes. Advanced Templates adds automation actions to your board's Automation Center. Trigger item creation from templates on any board event — item created, status changed, or custom triggers.
- Do templates include subitems?
- Yes. You can save subitems as part of item templates or as standalone subitem templates. Subitem dates can be set relative to the parent item's due date.
- Can I create items for multiple assignees at once?
- Yes. The 'Create for many assignees' feature creates one item per selected person or team member — useful for onboarding, training, and performance reviews.
- What if I need to run complex automations with 40+ items?
- Set up an OAuth token in Advanced Templates settings. This allows automations to run beyond the default 5-minute limit for complex structures.
- Can I copy templates to other boards?
- Yes. Use the 'Copy to board' option and map columns between boards. Templates are available across your entire workspace.
